The jubnail split off after moving into the Jujubee Ocean. They are much less active as predators preferring to search the surface for food. The nails have gone from a social use to defense. Rather then touch each other with their nails for group bonding, they are held by mutual defense. They are safe when in a group do to their intelligent use of defensive splits, covering each other with powerful bites and slashes. When hunting swarmers one jubnail will charge the to the front of the swarm from below, as the swarm turns up and around a small number of jubnails perform a closing circle forcing the swarm higher until they reach the surface, at this point the rest of the pod begins to cut though the swarm.
