The ironcrop has split from its ancestor. It has invaded the land on Ovi Island. It can do this for the reason that there isn't much competition for iron on the island. Therefore, due to its successful method of acquiring iron, large fields of it can be found where iron is abundant. The reason large fields of ironcrop can exist is because of the presence of the uktank. As these large creatures roam through the vegetation, they flatten large areas of it opening up land.
The ironcrop uses some of the iron the acquire to produce a stronger outer skeleton which helps support them out of water. But even more iron is used to cover the new cellball. Each stalk will develop a cellball just like their ancestor, but this one is coated in an iron shell. This is to prevent the cell from being damaged on either the fall to the floor or if it is trampled on.
