The irisiris genus group replaced its ancestor, the Irisiri. Like their name suggests they mainly feed off the eyes of species, but also feed on any soft open spot on species such as gills, nostrils and mouth. They can live in just about any marine biome, both saltwater and freshwater. After feeding they will reproduce and then swim away to seek out more hosts. Once found they will release a chemical so others can feed on the host too.
