The ichthypede is an offshoot of their ancestor that has returned to the surface. Due to the moving currents of the lake, they have gone through atavistic changes with the genes responsible for the growth of legs being reawakened slightly. They live near the lake bed, using their claws to stir up their food. They are twice the size of their ancestors due to the wider open spaces. Due to the higher sun exposure, their exoskeletons have regained their ancestral pigmentation.
