Ancestor:Descendants:

The hydroskimmer evolved hydrogen jellysquid. While the sea floater has replaced the hydrogen jellysquid in the Wright Reef, the hydroskimmer has replaced it in the Glicker Reef. Here are some major changes with the hydroskimmer. First, its beak has moved forward to skim the water for food and still has the mini-tentacles to push food in. Second, one pair of tentacles has developed into spiked tentacle fins which allow it to swim around the water surface. Third, the last pair of tentacles have adapted into moth-like antennae. The spikes are now fine hairs with which it can feel vibration. It holds one up into the air while the other it hangs the other down into the water so it can simultaneously hear both above and below the water. It still has no eyes, thus it cannot see except with these antennae, but it can at least "see" through sound. Its lungs have also developed a bit more so it can breathe faster when swimming after prey. Thanks to the hearing, it can now aim its toxin at the source of the sound and even estimate how close it is. It reproduces in the same way as its ancestor.
