Descendant of Ancestor of

The hornsniffer split from it ancestor the leafhorn. It have moved to the western beaches of Darwin and Drake. There it had an abundance of decomposing matter and fauna dropping to eat. Its coloration now mimic the golden sands of Darwin and the green color of the chunky plyent. Their jaw has evolved into a new shape to help it scoop up more food. It has 2 mandibles on the side and then a top main jaw. Inside are many tiny hairs which help sweep the food into its mouth.

Its smelling "horns" have also evolved. No only to they have their many tiny hairs to help it sense the world around it but it has developed 3 main breathing holes. These holes not only allow it to breath more efficiently but help suck in scents. They move slow so any predators will not notice them. They lay their eggs in the sand and have developed a tolerance for the larger amount of salt in the sand. Like their ancestors they dig small holes in which they will hide or sleep in. During the winter they will hibernate in these holes until its warm enough to come out.
