The hooknose urphish split from its ancestor when a group of urphish went deeper one day in search of a food source. For many years, they went farther and farther out, and deeper and deeper until eventually they reached the Blarg Cold Seep. They found a food source from the Blarg pyamus, a fungus-like organism with soft insides. The hooknose urphish gained the ability to puncture the flesh of the Blarg pyamus, then suck out its soft insides. The hook-shaped beak is the result if a mutation.
