Ancestor:Descendants:

The hexbalgae replaced its ancestor, the tribalgae. Its 3 cells have split into 2 and made it into 6 cells. Having double the amount of cells means it can absorb twice the amount of sunlight that it could before. They still occupy the Russ River and some portions of the water were so full of hexbalgae it looked like black dust clouds suspended in the river.
