The hemohex replaced its ancestor sublyme disease. Like its ancestor it gets passed around when the sagaverme gusherwurm feeds on red blooded sagaverme species. Its has evolved a proboscis so it can better feed on the blood cells of its host. Its also has evolved more flagellum so it can swim faster. The host once infected begins to develops blood clots thanks to a coagulant it produces. This causes the creature slowly die due to lack of blood flow. It is fatal in most victims however most pass out because of lack of oxygen before they die. This makes them perfect targets for lizardworms who would scavenge on other dead lizardworms and thus become infected themselves.
Living Relatives (click to show/hide)
These are randomly selected, and organized from lowest to highest shared taxon. (This may correspond to similarity more than actual relation)
None found. Note that this does not necessarily mean it has no living relatives at all, but that, assuming all taxonomy is filled in, its entire class is extinct; any relatives it does have likely do not resemble it.
