The hardenvar split from its ancestors. Due to the predatory pressures from the unkropi and yanviru, the oceanvars of Arctic Polar Sea formed hybrid-symbiosis relationships with other microbes in the region. The hardenvar is one such relationship between its ancestor and the hardened flash cell. They are so successful that they have also spread to Raq Temperate Bay.
A row of hardened flash cells line the from of the organism. These act as a barrier to predatory microbes due to their thick cell wall (which has increased in its toughness), while the oceanvar half provides the mobility that the flash cells had not had before. Both sides share energy from photosynthesis; the ability of the solar flash cell line to store light allows then to live in deeper water and to stay active even at night.
