The hairy slitherworm split from its ancestor and moved to all the coasts in western Dixon and Barlowe. It has changed its colors to match the rusty red sand of the beaches it now inhabits. Its eyes are a bit larger to see better. They also now have a pretty good ability to tell their orientation and speed in the water, which aides while swimming very quickly. They have a crest on the top of their head that is covered with hairs of varying length. The hairs help it to know how fast it is traveling, further helped by their larger eyes. The inside of the crest is filled with a fluid less a small bubble at the top. The hairs on the outside also have a counterpart inside of the crest, which feels where the fluid is inside of the crest. Their body has changed as well. It is slightly smaller, and every other segment has fused with the one before it, therefore causing the segment to be stronger, aiding in speed. The jaws face more forward than before, which can be used to attack prey. It eats the descendants of what it ate while it still lived in the river.
