The grovecrystal split from its ancestor, the creeping crystal. It has doubled in size and spread across the rainforests and woodlands of Darwin. Like its ancestor it reproduces through asexual budding. Smaller trees grow off the parent "root" until it can survive on its own. They now grow a hard trunk made out of its red fungi-like roots. The hard bark keeps out the elements and herbivores.
