The greater thornskunik replaced its ancestor, the thornskunik. It has doubled in size and has developed even more protective thorns. Its leg armor has become even thicker to keep any predators hurting it. They are strong enough to hold up its enlarged weight as well. Its mouth faces directly under it head and it stands over food when eating. Like it ancestor it eats a variety of glassflora species. They still spawn in cryobowl species, but while a male will spawn into any cryobowl, the females now check for genetic material before spawning, and will then guard the cryobowl until their young are old enough to live on their own.
