Ancestor:Descendants:

The gillrom replaced its ancestor, the bubblerorm. It has become more advanced with a primitive circulatory system, more advanced nervous system and 3 pairs of primitive gills which allow it to better extract oxygen from the water. Like its distant relatives the "arrowhead" they too have "coboglobins" (cobalt based blood) which is amber in appearance without oxygen and bright magenta in color when with oxygen.

Its cilia hairs have evolved into more advanced feelers which grow on either side of the body. Like their ancestor they not only can feel with them but they are used to taste too. They have 2 pairs in front which are longer and extra sensitive, They use this as their primary feelers. Their mouth has moved to the front so it can both filter food to eat and water to breathe.

They no longer grow their offspring from the front of their head but lay eggs on the underside of island colonialball. In order for them to survive they lay thousands of eggs. Their body is now purple in color to blend in with the island colonialballs. They spend most of their lives around the floating island colonialballs and never adventure too far away from it, except to migrate to another island colonialball cluster. It was so successful that it also replaced its relative the spinderorm.
