Ancestor:Descendants:

The ghastchomp replaced its ancestor, the ghastrat, in Badger Limestone Caves. Due to the competition with its relative the wargrat it had to specialize in order to survive. It now only eats limestone wingworms, which had no predator before. In order to capture this flying prey it sits motionless and wait with its mouth wide open. It uses its sensitive ears to hear when one flys by and then it will both use it tongue and leap at in order to capture it.

Its legs are very strong and not only help it leap but help it climb on the cave walls. This allows it to stay out of reach of the wargrat who might want to eat them. Since it lives in near darkness there was no need for eyes or pigment so its eyes cannot see anymore and its skin have almost no pigment. Without pigment they appear greenish from their green plent blood. This actually helps if they do come into the light since the limestone around them is green too.

Unlike their ancestors they are not social at all and will each make their own small territory in the cave waiting for limestone wingworms to fly by. When they do meet its only for mating or fighting over territory.
