The frabukis genus group replaced its ancestors the frabuki, jeluki frabuki, sprawling frabuki, symbiobuki, and wright frabuki. They are an important part of the marine ecosystem. They crawl around on the sea floor eating organic matter and plankton. They can be found in both saltwater and in freshwater. They can even survive deep at the bottom of the ocean where the pressure is high or near vents where the temperate is immense.

Descended from the fraboos they are the "neoteny" version of them. The only difference between fraboo larva and frabukis are that they have a cloaca to reproduce at the end of its tail. Their gills can be seen between its chitin segments and appear red due to their iron rich blood. They are completely blind and deaf and must feel around to navigate.
