Ancestor:Descendants:

The foi-eating gilltail split from its ancestor, the gilltail. It has specialized in eating foi. It lives in the deep parts of the Jujubee Ocean. It uses what little light there is to hunt prey. When it can't see it relies upon its new adaption, "taste". Inside its beaked mouth are taste sensors which it can use to "taste" the water and detect where foi are. It mainly follows the scent of the digestive juices of a foi's external digestive system.

It will travel in small schools to protect itself from larger predators. Since many fee live on the sea floor it will feel around with its beak to see if there are any hiding under the sediment. It will also lay its eggs under the sediment. It will mate whenever food is plentiful, which is not to often in the desolate ocean.
