Ancestor:Descendants:

The flying dart is a larger version of the flying preying worm, and replaced it. Its horn-hairs have now evolved into two smaller horns that further hold its prey in place. In a chase with prey, the Flying Dart will try to force it against something like a rock or a tree. The horns will hold it there until the creature is dead and the Dart feasts. The wings are more powerful now, and the Dart can change direction very quickly, easily out-maneuvering the prey. It can fly backwards and hover for long lengths of time due to the power and greater aerodynamic shape of its wings.
