Ancestor:Descendants:

The flugwurm is a hybrid of the clear-wing worm and the cadovermi. It became quite successful and eventually replaced both of its ancestors. Entirely unique among wingworms, they grow through various life stages. They go through eggs to lava to pupa and then adult. The sticky eggs are laid on by the base of the roots of many types of flora. When the larva hatch they quickly go underground. Larva with eat rotting fauna and flora. When they eat enough they will weave a gossamer and chitin cocoon much like its distant relatives the sagworms use to.

After metamorphosis the adult will emerge from the coon with 6 wings, 8 small legs and reproductive organs. Their diet also changes to eating the leaves. They can mate year round and will mate using their cloaca on their abdomen. Their sticky tongues will scrape food against their chitin pseudo-teeth which are around the mouth. They cannot chew with them since they are fixed in place. Tiny pores near the mouth can sniff out food for miles and they will fly using the eyes on the back to track the sun. Thus they must use scent to "see" where they are going. However eyes on their back is not all bad since they can quickly see danger if it tries to catch them while eating.
