The flovars genus group has replaced its ancestors, the oceanvar, amoebavar, basillovar, hardenvar, flagellavor, flavuswimmer and other flovar decedents. They are the base of many marine ecosystems and live where ever there is sunlight and flowing water, be it the ocean, rivers or lakes. Like its ancestors it absorbs red light with its green chloroplasts and reproduces via mitosis.
Most are mobile however some are immobile and anchored down. Their fan-like flagellum propels them through the water. Their main cluster of cells photosynthesize and gain energy for movement. They tend to only swim when they need more sunlight, nutrients or to get away from predators. They are a highly diverse genus and have many hybrids within the genus. These hybrids take on the traits of the cell they have hybridized with, such as the ability to "flash" from species of the flashcells genus.
