Ancestor:Descendants:

The flare bubblestem replaced its ancestor, the bubble cactus after many years of success. After the gamma ray disaster it was left almost without any creatures that fed on its hydrogen fruits and therefore adapted many new usages for them. First the lower bubbles are massive in size, filled with hydrogen but without any seeds. The plant uses these when any fauna feeds on it in a massive explosion setting the fauna on fire and fertilizing the soil like many of its ancestors once did. Its mid-level bubbles have neither hydrogen nor seeds in them. They contain water the plant keeps in order to survive the desert drought. After the rare heavy desert rains they can inflate up to 1 meters wide bubbles! The upper bubbles are replaced often and contain both hydrogen and seeds. These disconnect from the plant to wander the skies until, after a while, they pop up in a flare in the sky releasing their seeds. Using this reproduction method it has also spread into the near Huggs Scrub and Huggs-Yokto Savanna.
