Splitting from its ancestor, the flapjack sucker foi has specialized in its choice of prey and modified its body accordingly. It has a flattened appearance, increasing the amount of surface area it has and thus the feeding area it has. Their coloration helps them to blend in with the skin of their prey. If threatened, they vibrate rapidly and release a cloud of irritating spores that would otherwise be released regularly every month. The young, should they survive, will attach to a suitable host and grow into their adult stage.
