The feathertop split from its ancestor and grew to twice its size, it no longer has long branches like its ancestor, the upper photosynthetic portion of its body it mostly just giant fatty lump feathers. The protective layered trunk portion makes up the majority of its height, and the layers stick upward to give extra support to the feathers and to discourage herbivores. Its spores hang down and have a thin fleshy layer over them to encourage fauna to eat them.
