The feathered sauceback is a split off from the tusked sauceback. It is a smaller and more intelligent pack hunter that uses its keen hearing and strong sense of smell to help make social bonds. It now can make a variety of sounds from its largest lung, which range from high shrills to low raspberry-like sounds. Feathered saucebacks are very social and form a hierarchical pack, similar to Earth's wolves. In each of the biomes, there is a sub-species that has distinct markings to help it blend into its environment. Shown here is a rainforest subspecies. Although the ranges of the tusked, leaping, and feathered sauceback overlap, none of them are in direct competition with each other (the tusked sauceback hunts larger prey, and the leaping saucebacks hunt alone and are also the only other predator in the biomes they overlap). Its skin has developed feathery extensions that it uses to help maintain a more constant body temperature. Its mandible-tusks have grown proportionally larger to help kill and devour prey.
