The eye-tailed darbola replaced its ancestor, the darbola over on Wright. After being washed from Glicker to Wright the eye-tailed darbola had many new food sources such as 'worms', 'centiworms' and 'glowlickers'. In addition, its old prey had arrived as well. This new variety in food allowed it to thrive. It doubled in size and spread from the Nuke rainforest and on to the Nuke temperate forest. It has even spread into the Huck limestone caves.
To better locate prey its eyes have clustered around the end of its tail. It has also developed a ganglia close to its eyes so it will not have a delayed in reaction time. Now its tail works like a neck and it can swivel its tail in different directions to locate prey with its 2 pairs of eyes. They have also grown larger for night hunting. Like its ancestor it is a nocturnal predator. One of its favorite foods is the violet glowlicker which is easy to see glowing in the darkness. The beak-like protrusion on its tail is its cloaca and is used for matting. Having eyes so close to its cloaca allows them to see where to mate more easily, however some over aggressive mates have been known to poke out eyes. Lucky they have 4 eyes and really only need one good pair to be successful.
Like its ancestor the eye-tailed darbola's wings are not as useful for flight, but they are good enough for the darbola to glide from tree to tree or on thermal updrafts. They are solitary predators. They only come out at night and will spend the day either in the Huck limestone caves or in trees. They hunt by leaping out at their small prey in the air or sometimes by sneaking up on them in trees or on the ground.
