The explosive cryodome split from its ancestor, the hollow cryodome, and has moved back out of the caves. They now rely on photosynthesis for energy, instead of a symbiotic relationship with cryodome hydroutine. They still have a symbiotic relationship with the cryodome hydroutine, but it aids in their reproduction, not gathering energy. Once the explosive cryodome is big enough, it starts feeding the cryodome hydroutine sugar, so it doesn't have to produce energy from hydrogen, and in return the hydroutine splits water until the chamber in the center is filled with hydrogen and oxygen. The flesh near the top of the cryodome dies off, leaving the chitin lens exposed. Light is focused through the lens, causing the hydrogen and oxygen to combust, tearing the cryodome apart. Their seeds are now imbedded in the porous flesh of the cryodome, so when it explodes the seeds are scattered widely.
