The dissolveblobs split from its ancestor, the dissolveballs. This occurred when some dissolveballs killed their hosts the rubric sticky-cube. Most dissolveballs that did that died after a short while but some learned to survive without their hosts. They started growing on decaying materials and extremenesses by dissolving them using the same enzymes their ancestors used. They still bund into huge colonies and spread both by budding and by releasing their spores, which are carried out by the wind or by the rubric sticky-cube. Each colony has the "mother blob", almost always the original blob that formed the colony. This blob is slightly lighter and controls the whole colony using special enzymes and hormones. It has lots of sensors on it, chemical physical and light absorbing, which helps it predict the events to come and make the colony act accordingly. From example when a rubric sticky-cube tries to digest the colony in its tract the whole colony releases its enzymes in a deadly flow that scorches the cube not allowing it to feed on the colony. It can also feed on microorganisms in the soil.
