The denclaw split from its ancestor. Unlike its ancestor, it digs small holes to rest and lay its eggs inside. The way it digs is by using its antler-claws to dig. The denclaw's hooves have modified into claw-like hooves, which allows them to dig. Other physical changes include becoming smaller and having a smaller horn. Despite these changes, it still lives a similar lifestyle its ancestor lives.
