The crystal banana tree replaced the crystal trees of Yokto Island. Due to having a limited amount of space, it had become smaller in order to help grow more of its kind. It also had to evolve a narrower root system than its ancestor to provide even more space. Another special adaptation is that it has bigger fruit which store more spores inside. However, the most unique evolution is that the "fruit" has developed a second peelable "crystal skin" which helps keep the soft insides from rotting.
During the dry season, the "fruit" fall off the branches. The "fruit" have also developed sugars and other nutrients inside of them, which attracts many hungry animals to them. Then the animals tear the peel away and eat the "fruit". This helps spread the spores throughout the island.
