The cryostump split from its ancestor, the cryostalk. It is now twice as tall as its ancestor and has thrived in the empty biomes due to the recent drought. It has developed a hard chitinous fungi-like trunk base to keep it from falling over. Like their ancestors, they are very efficient in getting nutrients from the soil and need very little nutrients to survive.
