Ancestor:Descendants:

The creeping starflora split from its ancestor, the swish starflora. It has grown twice its ancestors size and has left the river to the sea. It leaves have also gotten much thicker and more complex. The photosythetic parts have become harder and double a primitive shell. They mainly move around using the leaves as legs rather than swimming around like its ancestor. However it can still swim if it needs to get away fast.

It has evolved a more efficient digestive system. It now stores its waste in its gut which has elastic walls. Its body can balloon to twice its size. The point of this is that eventually, it will suddenly contract its gut, forcing the waste out away from it so it will not filter-feed on its own waste. Like its ancestor it will migrate to the waters surface during midday to absorb energy and during the night descends into depths and gathers microbes.

Like its ancestor each creeping starflora contains parts of two sexes. On a night when there is a lot of moonlight, each creeping starflora will travel to the shallow waters on the coast and release spores of both sex. As they all fall through the water, they mix and if one from each sex, they fuse and start to develop. This is increasing variation.
