The cottonback split from its ancestor the tasermane. Its has become a full herbivore and lives in Jeluki Tropical Riparian and Jeluki Salt Swamp. With warmer temperatures it lost most of its cotton coats except for on its back. They come in handy when swimming since it keeps them afloat. To deal with an all flora diet its stomach has gotten larger and they eat stones to help grind up food.
Their tusks now face forward to not only uproot flora but help males fight over mates. They are still social and stay in herds of 8 to 18 individuals. Their use their prehensile tongues to pick flora to eat. While they do not hunt prey they can still produce an electric shock from their tongue. This comes in hand if predators try to attack them.
During mating season males will clash skullcaps and fight with their tusks. The winner gets to mate with the females of the herd. The females will raise 3-4 offspring. They will make mud mound nests to hold and guard their offspring in. The alpha male will not only help protect the colony from predators but keeps out other rival males from taking over the colony.
