The Colonial Bobiiro has split from its ancestor the Chambered Bobiiro and has spread across the sub-polar oceans of Sagan 4. It has over gone an evolution similar to the Pioneeroots genus, in that individual spheres now grow a simple dangling root underwater that performs symbiosis with nitrocycle microbes to gain more nutrients than just through sunlight. In imitation of the Pioneer Raftballs the Colonial Bobiiro also forms clusters of immense raft-like colonies that collect sunlight, spread nitrogenic nutrients throughout said colonies, and sometimes forming symbiosis with Diaminets to gain even more nutrients. As a result, the Colonial Bobiiro is now openly in contest with the Pioneer Raftballs for this particular symbiotic niche across the oceans of Sagan 4.* Otherwise, it is the same as it's ancestor.
