The Claworm split from its ancestor, changing it diet to become a carnivore. With so many new insectoid detrivores roaming the forests, the butcher worms that were already adapted to feed on meat started to feed on the new prey. The Claworm is bigger than its ancestor and could also be identified by its large four horns shaped like a massive claw. It also has muscles connected to these horns allowing it to close them down like a mouth, grabbing its prey and tearing its flesh or breaking its shell. Most of the time it could be seen burrowing through plant material, mainly rotten, for either the butcher worm or boring centiworm. When it spots movement it waits near a possible exit for its prey to come out and than grabs it and tears it apart. It waits in a standing posture that is now enabled due a set of back legs that evolved. After feeding they can inflate to about almost double their weight and width. Being so massive they usually just half bury themselves in the ground only getting out to drink until they need to feed again.
Because it is rather slow when hunting for the hungry shellworm its usually buries itself partly near some rotting food and ambushes its prey. Its color mimics the color of the mega orbitree. Because the Claworm can't stand the smell of the stankyball, the hungry shellworm is rather safe when it is near it.
