The chipper sauceback split from its ancestor and doubled in size, and spread its range. It can live on or off shellwalkers, it no longer cleans them though. Instead, it will peck holes in its back and drink the hosts blood. The tip of its tail is now used as a defensive weapon, and its tusks have become tougher and closer together to make pounding holes in shells easier. It has stronger legs than its ancestor and can run very fast.

They live in small flocks, of about 7 to 14 individuals. Females scatter hundreds of eggs across the land, she does not care for them or the young. Their larvae live underground and feed on the roots of plants.
