Ancestor:Descendants:

The cave nectarling split from its ancestor, the nectarling. It followed the sugar-trunked balloonarch into the Mae Sandstone Caves when it evolved into balloonomae. There the two species depened upon each other to survive since the cave neartarling needs the nectar of the balloonomae to eat while the balloonomae needs the cave neactarling to pollinate it.

To help it climb around in the caves, the cave nectarling has evolved better gripping hands and feet. Its eyes have become bigger to see in the dim light of the cave and its ears have improved so it can hear when moving around in the dark. They still live in groups, and they are constantly going from one balloonomae to another.
