Ancestor:Descendants:

The cave ironcage split from its ancestor, the ironweb and inhabited the rather empty Raptor Limestone Caves. Like its ancestor they live in colonial lifestyle living in webs between the cave tangle stalk. Each individual is about 30 cm long but together they form massive webs covering whole caves. It no longer feeds on fauna and instead uses its lithovoric diet and sucks the internal liquids of its host the cave tangle stalk. Like their ancestor they release enzymes making their ancestors absorb the little iron that could be found in the cave walls and soil. Their webbing is extremely strong because of the iron and therefore it can cage whole caves not allowing any fauna to enter. They pass their spores through the "liquid stream" of the cave tangle stalk.
