Plains Hunter |
The cave hunter is an offshoot of the plains hunter, having adapted to the volcanic southeastern terrain of its territories. It is a smaller size and is darker in color, and has a larger brain relative to its size. Living in small (5-15) family gangs, the cave hunters strictly regulate their territories, fiercely defending them from other cave hunter gangs. They are extremely social creatures, and 20% of their time is spent vocalizing to each other using the vocal sacs in their head.
Cave hunters are mostly carnivorous creatures, feeding on the various small prey that live in the Blood Lava Tubes and the surrounding volcanic area, though they can forage for and digest caveberries to supplement their diet. Due to their smaller size, cave hunters are more agile than their plains-living brethren, and as a result rely less on their paralyzing toxin, which has resulted in it growing weaker.
