The capisail split from its ancestor the capispine and moved inland from the beach and into the Ittiz Peninsula. There it found sparse food but no predators. It shrunk to half its ancestor's size and now has a lighter ridged sail. Its tail spikes have grown larger in order to fight for mates. Males have thicker skin and larger spikes than females and will battle each other during mating season. The one who wins will be able to mate with the females.

They still use color flashes to communicate but not as much for mating anymore. They have larger eyes so can can stay active at night when its cooler. They travel in herds and are lead by an alpha male. In order to not over feed in one particular region they migrate around the peninsula. Their feet have grown wider so they can walk on top of the soft desert sand better.
