The capeye split from its ancestor the cave capoo. It has followed the plurgey outside the sandstone cave and out to the red sandy desert. They have specialized in eating the plurgey since it is so hard to eat. Since plurgey grow so tall they must eat the immature plants since the spikes stop them from eating the 3m tall ones.

They have gained a lot of adaptations, fist of which is their very long necks so they can reach the high leaves of the plurgey. Another adaptation is their back to which has now evolved a claw on the end to better grip the ground and stabilize them on only 2 legs. They must be careful not to fall over with their long necks. Their skull has changed the most. Their 2 top eyes which were lower on the crest now have migrated to the tip of the crest and merged into one single eye. This allows them to see directly behind them. The 2 middle eyes have moved to the top of the head so they can see very far. And the bottom pair of eyes have grown out on 2 horizontal stalks so it has a wider sight range.

Their skin can still change colors but they use it for camouflage most of the time to avoid predators. When they do change colors its mainly on the neck frill and head. Sometimes even the very long neck. Since they are deaf they completely rely on sight for both communication between each other in the herd but to be aware of their environment. Their nostrils have moved on top of the head so it smell what it is eating with its hard beak. like their ancestors they have back grinding teeth to chew up the leaves while the hard beak is used to pick off the leaves or even break off thorns so it can get closer to the plurgey.
