The the brutish trotskunik replaced its ancestor, the trotskunik. It has grown bigger and stronger. Its pick-like claws are used to break up the semi-frozen ground. This makes it easier for the spelunkhoes to dig. Like its ancestor it lives in harmony with the spelunkhoe in underground tunnels. However now they are bigger the spelunkhoes must dig significantly larger tunnels for the brutish trotskuniks to still fit inside. They will help bring food from surface back into the tunnels and will openly share it with the spelunkhoes.
They spend a lot more time on the surface and utilize this time to photosynthesize. They they rarely leave the tunnels during the night but will spend much of the day out of the tunnels. They can carry food in their large throat pouches and will spit out their food when they return to the communal burrow. They spawn in ponds made at the bottom of the tunnels, with the larva eating pieces of flora placed there by the adults.
