This species of gut foi split from its ancestor and evolved to live within a major predator of its old host, the eggulper gilltail. The belligerent nailfin provided it with much more space and food, and they have now taken up life in its digestive tract, absorbing the food it eats. To aid it in this it has evolved cilia-like growths that serve as additional feeding stages alongside its stomach, and has developed enzymes to protect it that are produced from tiny surface vacuoles that appear as green spots on its backside. It lives much like its ancestor did, and enters its new host by first entering an eggulper nailfin during its larval stage. They quickly burrow into the muscles and form cysts, and will only transform into their adult stage once they enter a belligerent nailfin. They then take up refuge in the intestines and release eggs that eventually leave the host and hatch, after which they will repeat the cycle.
