The bearhog plent evolved in a split from the brutish plenthog. It is larger than its predecessor, featuring massive legs that are mostly all muscle due to its weak primitive bones. It is an opportunistic omnivore that will eat just about anything it comes across. Among its prey are: most varieties of plent, including the plent trees; saucebacks, miragebok, berries, and even feathered silkworms. They are not picky eaters. Their leaves have devolved to no longer take in light, instead they are used for mating purposes. The brighter the leaves, the more attractive the mate. They moved surprisingly fast, faster than one would expect, which catches many prey off guard. Because of their highly varied diet, they can be found in a wide range of places.
