Ancestor:Descendants:

Balgae split from black polar algae. Like its ancestor it absorbs all light. Unlike its ancestor it has evolved to live in the cold fresh water river rather than the cold salt water sea. It has also split into two connected cells. This doubles the amount of solar energy it can collect.
