The armored brumgo split from its ancestor, the brumgo. It has now specialized in eating only worms, specifically the bombardier clipperkin. It has evolved hard scales all over its head and front legs. This protects it from not only the bites of the worms it eats but also the hot spray of the bombardier clipperkin. Its stomach can also digest this mixture without any ill effects. It can also use its 2 tusks to uproot flora to get to the worms which may be hiding under the surface.
Its tail is not longer for show but can still make elaborate noises to attract a mate, with the male with the most complex song gets the females. It can also photosynthesize still with its green skin; its purple sail however is for mating rituals rather than photosynthesis.
