The armapede split from its ancestor walkerpede and adapted to feeding on arbodron bulbs alone. To get to the arbodron bulbs situated at branch ends the armapede has made the following adaptations: Shrunk its size by 50% to lighten its climbing burden. Evolved smaller clawed climbs for grasping onto arbodron's rough surfaced coat. The smaller limbs bring it in closer proximity to the arbodron's surface coat so that it can both camouflage itself better and hide in the nooks and crannies that are present on its trunk when predators appear. It's horned protrusions provide defensive aid against persistent predators.
