Reproduction Sexual, Puffy Spores

The Arid Puffgrass split from its ancestor Puffgrass. It has adapted to more arid environments such as Darwin Desert. It has developed waxy leaves to help retain moisture. Their puffy stalk are smaller and more numerous. Like their ancestor they spread their puffy spore via the wind. These float in the wind and matching spores fuse together, forming airborne zygotes. Once fertilize and on the surface it will start to germinate. To maximize their chances of fertilization they will coordinate their release of spores just after the rains have come. This insures that the soil is wet enough for their spores to grow in.
