The arboreal diveskunik split from its ancestor, the diveskunik. It evolved from the same filter-feeding stock as its relative, the fatty diveskunik. A group of these diveskuniks migrated to a patch of branching cellulosebanes free of the cellulosebane microplaque in drake taiga. They flourished in this new environment, because of their ability to convert cellulosebane spores into organic compounds. These diveskuniks adapted to use the spores as their main food source, eventually going as far as to climbing the cellulosebane and sucking on their branches. It has evolved longer tenticles to wrap around and hold itself on the branches, as well as adapting its saliva to kill cellulosebane microplaques. It will spawn in cryobowls, and will spend the first part of its life filter-feeding cryodome hydroutine before becoming large enough to climb a cellulosebane crystal.
